What Jump Festa actually is

The ticket lottery, in three rounds

The catch: the General Lottery needs a Japan address

It doesn't ask about nationality or visa status, and it doesn't explicitly say "no overseas applicants" — but a hotel booking or a friend's address you're not actually living at isn't a residential address, and the app's registration is built around a person who already has one. In practice, this is a very different situation from most Tokyo events aimed at tourists: it quietly assumes you live in Japan.
If you're a long-term resident, student, or working here with a registered address, none of this is a problem — you apply like anyone else. If you're visiting for a week or two over the holidays with no Japan address to your name, this is the honest answer: you likely can't win a General Lottery ticket yourself, and there's no paid workaround, no door sale, and no companion-ticket system to fall back on the way there is at some other Tokyo events.
Don't buy a resold or transferred ticket if you see one offered online.
